Dr. LeAnne Duffey has practiced her entire veterinary career at SVC since 1994. She obtained her BS in Biology and Chemistry at MTSU and her DVM at University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. The love of animals and science started at a young age and was instilled in her by her father who was a biology and chemistry teacher. Her sister is also in the veterinary field and is a veterinary radiologist in Ohio.
SVC has always been a special place and her role has changed many times over the years. She was the first female associate and after 8 years became SVC’s first female owner. Ownership was a lifelong dream but challenging. After 15 years as owner, she returned to life as an associate allowing her to concentrate solely on patient care and supporting the human-animal bond. So many of her clients have become her friends and sharing the love and life of their fur baby with them has been the most fulfilling for her.
Staying active in the Rotary Club of Smyrna for 17 years, has allowed her to give back to the Smyrna community and opened opportunities to do mission work in Honduras by building and electrifying houses.
When not at SVC, she, and her husband Mike, are likely camping at one of Tennessee’s beautiful state parks enjoying hiking, fishing, and kayaking. Their fur kids, Chesnie, Josie, and Oaklie are all rescues and complete their family. They make their life together more fun and fuller and are always happy to go for long hikes and car rides.
Lastly, she loves college football especially the Vols whom she has supported for over 30 years and her favorite color is orange…just check out her Jeep!
